LSA Candidates

Jack Pasquella

Jack is a sophomore at LSA from Lake Forest, Illinois. He is studying Political Science and Sustainability. On campus, he is involved in Roosevelt Institute, Green Wolverine, and Greek Life. If elected, Jack hopes to push the University to maintain a commitment to the environmental action and all students' mental wellbeing.

Sam Braden

Sam is a sophomore studying Classical Studies and Philosophy, and has been in CSG for two years now. Outside of CSG, Sam works as a Sweetland Writing Center tutor, and is involved in the Roosevelt Institute, the Michigan Gayly, and Eta Sigma Phi. As well, he is a Blavin Scholar and a first-generation college student. If elected, Sam is super excited about implementing the LSAT/MCAT/GRE prep courses next year, lowering textbooks costs, advocating for low-income students like himself, and so much more!

Addey Ojo

Adetola “Addey” is a sophomore studying Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health, and tentatively business. On campus, she works as a writing fellow for Stats 250, and is involved with the Pre-Medical Club and the Black Undergraduate Medical Association. In the little free time she has left over, she enjoys playing IM soccer or going for a run. As a first-time candidate for CSG, Addey looks forward to voicing the concerns of LSA students and keeping their best interests at heart to make Michigan the best it can be!

Emma Sandberg

Emma is a sophomore in the college of LSA. She is a member of Roosevelt Institute and is the Founder and Executive Director of Roe v. Rape, a nonprofit that helps survivors of sexual violence take back their power through activism. This past year she has led the fight to change U of M’s sexual misconduct policy and call for systemic change in the administration; she plans to further advance the cause if elected to CSG.

Liam Walsh

Liam Walsh is a sophomore studying Economics and Spanish in the college of LSA. He is a member of Greek Life on campus and serves on the Executive Board of its Social Responsibility Committee. He is also a Consultant for Michigan Political Consulting, which works on various political campaigns throughout the country, and a member of the Public Service Intern Program where he is hoping to work in Washington, DC this summer. Liam works as a media assistant at the Language Resource Center. If Liam were elected, he would push for actionable and noticeable change that would represent what students want, with specific passions for affordability, DEI, infrastructure and academic policy issues.

Ben Dubbink

Ben is a freshman set on studying Public Policy in the Ford School and going on to work in the fields of law and government. He gives tutoring lessons for many of the new political science students and is actively involved with CSG through the internship program and our campus LGBT community through the LGBT Michigan Club. You can normally find him poring over Tolkien or watching Senate debates in the confines of his dorm. He is dedicated to the task of public service, and many times you can find him volunteering at soup kitchens in Detroit or advocating for many progressive issues on campus like the fight for sustainability and the continuation of diversity and inclusion.
